Police have charged three drivers in south Muskoka with impaired driving- related charges over the weekend, Oct. 13 and 14.
On Friday Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. Bracebridge OPP officers received a call for service about a single motor vehicle collision on Muskoka Road 118 near Muskoka Road 169 in Muskoka Lakes Township. Officers arrived and with the assistance of witnesses, police say they located the driver nearby on foot. Police subsequently arrested and charged a 55-year-old Oshawa man with operation while impaired, having a blood-alcohol level over 80 per 100 ml of blood, taking a motor vehicle without consent, along with Highway Traffic Act offences. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Nov. 14, to answer to the charges.
Later on the same day, just after 11 p.m. police were called to an establishment on Muskoka Road North in Gravenhurst after members of the public reported concerns about a person's ability to drive their vehicle. Bracebridge OPP officers arrived and after an investigation arrested and charged a 51-year-old Gravenhurst woman with impaired operation, refuse to provide breath sample, mischief under $5,000 and having care of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 7, to answer to the charges.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m. officers were investigating a motor vehicle collision, encountered a driver, who was not involved in the incident, and entered into an impaired driving investigation. Police subsequently arrested and charged a 75-year-old Parksville, B.C. woman with impaired operation and having a blood-alcohol level over 80 per 100 ml of blood. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Nov. 21, to answer to the charges.
