A national test of the Alert Ready system is taking place in Ontario next week.
The routine test message will be distributed over TV, radio and compatible wireless devices and will occur at 12:55 p.m. EST on Wednesday, Nov. 15, according to "Ontario Warnings," the official X account of Emergency Management Ontario.
Alert Ready is Canada’s emergency alerting system. According to its website, Alert Ready delivers critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians, including severe weather and other emergency situations, through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices.

"Please do not call 911 for information about the test," Alert Ready says in an online message. "Using 911 for non-emergency calls could delay help for people experiencing real emergencies."
In the past, police and other emergency responders have said no action is required by you when receiving this alert and, "specifically, we ask that you do not call 911 unless you are experiencing an emergency."
